WanderLove Weekend at Liberty Mills Farm

By Liberty Mills Farm (other events)

2 Dates Through Sep 06, 2020

ABOUT ABOUT

WanderLove Weekend at Liberty Mills Farm was created to replace our originally scheduled Sunflower Festival. Our sunflowers were planted in time to bloom for late August, but the flower seeds did not germinate due to drought conditions in July. Since our Sunflower Festival last year supported the Farm, local musicians, our local vendors, local businesses and also provided job experience and income to our staff, we were reluctant to cancel both weekends of the Festival. Knowing that many people are looking for outdoor venues to enjoy, we created WanderLove, based on the Virginia Tourism's program to promote Road Trips and provide support to local businesses.

WanderLove weekend at Liberty Mills Farm is meant to be an unpredictable event for an unpredictable year. The cost of admission is a contribution to our Event Fund, which will pay local musicians, vendor fees, local businesses associated with the event, and is meant to enable as many people as possible to enjoy a day at the Farm without worry. A Pay it Forward option is also available for those who would like to pay for someone who is unemployed or unable to contribute but who needs a day to enjoy with family or friends.

The only thing we guarantee for this event, is that there will be no guarantees. :)

Firefly Food Truck will be onsite and there is a possibility that we may have a few sunflowers in bloom - the rain arrived in August!  Our annual flower patch will still be blooming and flowers may be picked and purchased at the event. We will have homemade fudge, ice cream and popcorn for sale along with other delicious Virginia products and plan to introduce our pumpkin spice mini-donuts at our Marke! Our hope is to have the Hay Wagon running for rides, masks required on the ride, and have the play tractor and new roller slide available for you to try out. Masks will be required for interactions during the day and we will be encouraging everyone to do their part in stopping the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Hourly specials will be announced and there is plenty of room on the farm for you to bring a blanket or chairs and spread out to enjoy the beauty of nature while listening to Austin Boggs on Saturday and/or Billy Caldwell on Sunday.

Thank you for your continued support of our efforts. Please let us know if you have any questions or suggestions to make this a fun and memorable day.
